From that vid u may recall a game we once played as children.
I wonder if any of you remember this game A.E.I.O.U?
It goes something like this:(the version i learned la)
a e i o u
banggali love u...
gorilla kiss u..
a e i o u
briefly, a person : 'A' stands facing away in a distance from a few others behind him/her.
A will shout the first line as above aloud and the others behind will run towards A from a starting line.
When A finishes a line, A will quickly turn around to see if the others have stopped.
A repeats the lines and then the others will try to touch A when they get close enuf.
When touched, A will chase all those behind before they reach the starting line. If a person gets caught, he/she becomes the next person to play the role as A did.
Hmmm..i think i can't remember exactly dee how it was played..I hope i'm correct..haha
This vid has nothing much to do with the game la.
Hope u get it after u watch the vid. At first i oso blur a while. i got it from Hyma's blog.
Just enjoy watching the cute cat la.

Shamed but not ashamed
Be shamed, yes. But do not be ashamed.
Short-term pain. Long-term gain
Huh???
It has been a long time since i blogged bout God and chrisitanity. But it was my friend's blog post entitled "God" which caused my dormant or lazy mind to think again. It is so common to hear people say that :
-it is enough to do good... -there are many gods who rule this world together... -we should be tolerant of other ppl's beliefs...
-What counts most is how you live your life and how you appreciate this life... etc etc
Just a thought: if we look at the dates that each religion appeared, we can see that it is impossible for all "gods" to sit around a table and discuss what each of them should do with this world and its people.
Why did I entitle this post "shamed but not ashamed"?
coz i realise that if we christians start to tell people that Jesus is the only way, people will say all sorts of things to shame you.
People will be agitated that u can't be tolerant and you're too extreme. How?
John Piper put it this way:
How do people shame you today for believing and sharing the gospel? It's not exactly the same as the way they did in the '60s. I heard Alistair Begg say recently that his unbelieving friends criticized him in the '60s because they did not believe that the gospel was true. In the '90s they criticize him for claiming that there is any truth. In other words, today the shaming is not to say that you are wrong, but to say that you are arrogant if you think others are wrong. Not that you have bad thinking, but that you have a bad attitude. Not that your worldview is defective, but that it is "passive"(not sure bout this one coz got typing error i think). The greatest weapon of shaming today in the world of religious claims is the accusation that you are intolerant and therefore mean-spirited and egotistical.
A classmate of mine became a christian a just a few years ago without me realising it. After finding out, i roughly mentioned to her that being a christian can be tough at times. She told me that it wasn't at all. I wonder, am i wrong or is she wrong? Is it because we have different lifestyles, problems, backgrounds etc or i somehow missed something?
Why is it tough at times? Coz basically God is gonna "bug" you when you don't do what is right or keep on living a sinful life.
Personally, what bugs me at times is that i'm not sharing the gospel to people. Ya, we can't force it into them. We gotta realise that we are in debt to them who are going to be lost to eternal suffering or hell just because we held back.
I end again with parts from John Piper's sermon:
Therefore, Paul would say - Jesus himself would say - suffer, yes. Be misunderstood, yes. Be shamed, yes. But do not be ashamed. You will be shamed, but you need not be ashamed. Because the message of God's saving work in Christ is the only final triumphant message in the world. Short-term pain. Long-term gain. For the joy (of salvation!) set before you, take up your cross, follow Jesus, be shamed and despise the shame.
To that we must steadfastly respond: It is the most loving thing in the world to tell the truth about the way of salvation. If Jesus has said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father but by me" (John 14:6), then, for the sake of love, we must pay our debt to the world, and despise the shaming of the "tolerant" '90s and tell them, "There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). The gospel of Christ alone is the power of God unto salvation.
Be shamed, yes. But do not be ashamed.
Short-term pain. Long-term gain.
Just to side-track. A friend once asked me what's the point of following God when it's so painful and that we have to be patient in so many things. What to say??
Short-term pain. Long-term gain.

Bananas of CCC and China Man
Finally!!! These 2 songs are finally recorded, editted and uploaded.
These songs are dedicated to all the bananas and non-bananas of 3rd college and UM.
I thank God firstly for the recording of these songs. Why? It has been in my mind for quite a long time. The final few weeks in UM came and I had so many things I wanted to do. The people needed in the recording also had their own schedules. I myself had left my guitar aside for quite some time and I myself was quite rusty dee. Anyway, somehow I managed to get the first song done and I thought that was all I could do. But then, again somehow somewhere in between the 6 hrs when i was packing up my stuff to leave college, the people needed appeared and I decided to get the 2nd song done.
What i wanna add is that anyone can "thank god" for good things. The diferrence here is I prayed specifically for God's help to be able to get these songs recorded. I thought it was not gonna be fully answered when i aonly managed to get one song done. But then somehow God arranged that the second song be recorded on a nite I didn't expect at all.
Thanks to How Wan Cherng, Amos Aw, Joshua Chew, Stephen Hoh, Chin Yui Chai and the support of other bananas and non-bananas.
The lyrics of these songs were brainstormed by me and Wan Cherng. We had no time to compose our own melody so we used the melody from Harlem Yu's Qing Fei De Yi and Robbie William's Better Man.

As my soul heals the shame
I will grow through this pain
Oh I’m doing all I can
To be a China Man
I’m so fed up you call us banana
Call us banana, call us banana
Wo shi xiang jiao ren ke shi wo bu pa

We are just so not thankful
Yes, at the moment when you're goin tru your problems, it's just so hard to be thankful and joyful.
But then I wonder if these verses are related to some of us:
2 Cor 1:8-11
8We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. 9In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. 10And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.
Look at the world which is full of competition and challenges.
I myself feel the tension of being one of those competing for a job.
I also think about money and how it will affect my family.
Somehow, we may think other guys/gals are better looking than us, earns more money, has a better job, has more character, is more talented, is more hardworking, has goals and aims, know what they want in life, etc etc
When u ask me what i want in life...I always say I DUNNO la....
Anyway, back to being thankful. Yup, it has been hard. I scraped tru a phase and thank God for His strength. But there's more to come which i dread.
I've seen the video below many times but somehow i keep forgetting that I have lots to be thankful for. There are many videos like these which remind us to be grateful for what u have. Another one is the Chicken ala Carte video.
There r many more from this guy. I don't wanna give up so easily and not be thankful...BUT I really wonder, how come we are so ungrateful and not thankful for all we have. I guess it's becoz we are competing with the people around us, whether we realise it or not.
People always seem to be better. Yup, there are those who are so confident of themselves. I dunno wat to say...good for you.... all i know is most of us are insecure and not content in certain areas of our lives but we don't admit it most of the time.
