Its owner always tried to stop it from playing in the mud but always failed. She wondered if her pet could be as neat and tidy as a cat. She loved very much but could not do much to change its habits.
One day, her parents decided to send the pig to a surgeon who was very well known for "changing hearts". The pig was operated and given a cat's heart.
But as time went by, it felt constantly tempted to play in the mud. It felt lonely coz it had to turn down its other friends who enjoyed in the mud everyday.
Every time it passes a pool of mud, it wanted to jump in. But, something inside says YUCKz...Blur???? haha. This story is actually an analogy about Christians. I'm sure those who attended Mr Lian's bible study would have heard it. Let me briefly explain.
We're all human beings. We naturally sin. The pig represents humans, the mud represents sin.
Our owner is God. He loves us so he gave us a new life through Jesus. The cat's heart in the pig represents Jesus in our lives.
Every new Chrisitan will feel new hope and joy when they accept Jesus. The have set all sorts of expectations towards God. They patiently wait for things to happen. They are "flying" high doing things for God.
But then, reality sets in. Their old habits start to tempt them. They feel left out in the "happening" world. God doesn't seem to anwer their prayers. Other Christians hurt them. etc etc. They start to wonder, " What is wrong with me? I thought God was gonna change my life. But now I'm in this S#$% !" . (Just an example out of the many)
Each time they want to give up or just go ahead and sin, there is an inner voice or more specifiaclly the Holy Spirit, will remind us not to do it. They feel guilty, disturbed, etc. That is what the last picture represents.
To everyone, by now you should understand that Chrisitians are still humans. They are still being changed from the inside by God as well as they have to make certain choices themselves to change. So, please don't blame God for every stupid thing that "chrisitans" do.
To christians who feel condemmned. Don't give up. It is natural that our weaknesses are the aim of the Devil. Jesus understands.
I hope I painted (or photoshopped) a clearer picture of Christianity. The way to eternal life is indeed narrow. I don't agree with the statement "once saved, always saved" . We are not christians simply by attending Church. Sorry lah...
Philippians 2:12b-13 "...work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure"

2 Corinthians 5:21 21God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
When we feel good and things are going well, don't u think it is easier to obey God, to do good, etc? But when disappointments, tiredness, failures, relationship issues, hurt, etc etc come our way, we tend to feel like doing every other thing that feels good and leave God aside. Even as i was completing this blog post, I wasn't feeling very right with God and had some issues with my mom. I admit I have to face it and deal with it. No excuses.I hope I painted (or photoshopped) a clearer picture of Christianity. The way to eternal life is indeed narrow. I don't agree with the statement "once saved, always saved" .
